450k to further expand the Pomton brand in the drinks market

Pomton, the refreshing mixed drink based on grapefruit and tonic, is hip. You can buy the cans at the supermarket and try them in many restaurants and summer bars. Although these are particularly challenging times for retailers in the beverage sector, founder Nathan Rosenberg wants to keep building on the brand and the future. But that requires (smart) capital.

Challenge:

Nathan Rosenberg is no longer a starter. In four years, the innovative and fresh mixed drink based on tonic and grapefruit juice has been transformed from an old hospitality company into a full-fledged product and a strong brand. Pomton has considerable potential, but faces many challenges. Recent political news and the introduction of deposits on cans, the increase in the sugar price or online marketing, which is becoming increasingly important, additional capital is needed to anticipate future challenges. In that phase of his business, the founder also lacks a sparring partner, a sounding board and honest feedback on the question: 'Am I doing a good job? '

Approach:

Together, we are preparing a substantiated file, both financially and strategically. We make a realistic analysis of the concrete challenges and the funding need. The pitch is also being fine-tuned so that the founder stands firm.

Pretty soon, The Harbour lets the company cross paths with BAN Flanders. From scheduling contacts to answering emails and sending files, The Harbour also supervises and monitors the conversations closely. The negotiations lead to an agreement with a business angel who contributes 50k capital. An already present angel puts the same sum on the table and another 200k is collected via the bank. So plenty of fresh capital, but especially the experience and network of the angels are a great added value.

Result:

The young company is ready to make a number of important strategic choices. A first major marketing campaign is being launched and there is a budget to recruit experienced sales people. Every Pomton consumer remains a fan, and that is a solid basis on which to build. Every step is carefully considered in a business-wise manner and the focus is now entirely on the future. Cheers to that!
