How Nomadesk got ready for a successful relaunch

Sometimes a company needs a fresh start to really grow. That was the case for Nomadesk, a company that offers secure file sharing and storage solutions. Peter Geldhof and his partners founded Nomadesk in 2004. In 2017, they sold the company to Unifiedpost, a major technology company.

When Peter had the chance to buy back Nomadesk in 2023, he did not hesitate for a moment. Nomadesk's technology was ideally suited to serve the growing private cloud market. For example, Peter immediately faced a new challenge: convincing investors of the great market potential.

The challenge

Peter was convinced of the value of his product and confidently entered the pitch phase. But it quickly became clear that convincing an investor is quite different from bringing in a customer. While customers mainly want to be convinced by features and benefits, investors want insight into financial potential, growth scenarios and risks, so our first feedback sessions were an eye-opener.

The approach

To increase the chances of success, Peter went through an intensive process. We worked together on the pitch, refined the story and adjusted the financial plan to better match what investors want to see. In a few workshops, we fine-tuned the key message and structured the financial forecasts.

The result

400,000 euros to conquer the market.

With a rock-solid plan in his pocket, Peter went back to farming. And successfully. His own network played an important role in the capital increase, and thanks to a clear presentation, we were able to raise additional funding. The result? A total capital injection of €400,000, co-financed by PMV.

With these new resources, Nomadesk now has the wind in its sails to bring its product to market at an accelerated pace. A strong example of how the right guidance and a strategic approach can make the difference in attracting investments.

“Thanks to The Harbour's guidance, our pitch grew into a clear and strong story. They helped us attract investors and gave our relaunch a strong boost.”
