How Tomsgates raised nearly €1 million for their new warehouse

Tomsgates specializes in luxury wooden cat and dog doors, standing for quality and craftsmanship. They use sustainable materials and offer a premium service, including installation. As growth continued rapidly, Tomsgates faced an important decision: moving to a larger storage facility to meet rising demand.

However, an expansion requires funding, which is where The Harbour came into play. With a well-thought-out strategy, a financial plan, and the right guidance, nearly €1 million in funding was secured.

The challenge

Tomsgates had been in business for several years and already had a storage facility in use, but limited space began to hinder their growth. Furthermore, they planned to move to a larger building, and the existing warehouse would be sold to facilitate the move. Strong funding was essential to take that next step.

Our approach

Tomsgates went through the entire process with The Harbour. We began with thorough preparation:

• Developing a strong narrative
• Defining a clear strategy to persuade investors and banks

The equity was first bolstered with the input of a CLA (Convertible Loan Agreement) from an investor who had been a firm believer in the project for some time. With the complete file in hand, we approached the bank for real estate financing.

Thanks to meticulous preparation, the entire purchase was financed without Tomsgates having to contribute its own capital.

With a combination of the CLA and bank financing, Tomsgates raised a total of nearly €1 million. They are now moving into their new storage facility and are ready to pursue their growth ambitions starting this spring.
